NOTE: You will need to insert size 10 envelopes into you printer in order to ensure proper formatting. You may also address your envelopes by hand.
Insert the letters printed in Step 1 into the corresponding envelopes printed in Step 2. Also insert a copy of the Death Certificate and a copy of the Letter of Testamentary (showing your authority to handle estate matters) into each envelope. Seal the envelopes and mail (it is recommended you mail via certified mail).

Your funeral home director is typically responsible for notifying the Social Security Administration of a death. However, this often times gets overlooked or delayed. We recommend you call them directly to insure the death is registered. They can be reached at 800-772-1213.
