Step 1

You will need to print the following letters for the companies requesting to be notified by U.S. Postal mail. Please click the link below and print:

You will need to print the following envelopes for the companies requesting to be notified by U.S. Postal mail. Please click the link below and print:

NOTE: You will need to insert size 10 envelopes into you printer in order to ensure proper formatting. You may also address your envelopes by hand.

Step 3

Insert the letters printed in Step 1 into the corresponding envelopes printed in Step 2. Also insert a copy of the Death Certificate and a copy of the Letter of Testamentary (showing your authority to handle estate matters) into each envelope. Seal the envelopes and mail (it is recommended you mail via certified mail).

The following are organizations that wish to be notified via their own web page form. Please click on each link, complete any fields that have not already been pre-populated for you (such as agreeing to terms and conditions), and submit.

Step 5

The following are social media or email organizations you selected to notify. For you protection, an additional step has been added before these accounts are notified and cancelled. You should have received an email to the email address you provided including a link you will need to click once ready to proceed with notification. Only click the link when you are ready to proceed. This will allow you time to back up any content on these social media or email sites.

Step 6

Your funeral home director is typically responsible for notifying the Social Security Administration of a death. However, this often times gets overlooked or delayed. We recommend you call them directly to insure the death is registered. They can be reached at 800-772-1213.

Step 7 (Optional)

If no one is regularly monitoring the U.S. Mail, it is important to consider forwarding the postal mail of the deceased as identity thieves often steal mail offers from mail boxes. If you would like to forward the postal mail, please click the following link:
